Description

essax-shark-sillin-bike-saddle-finHow did it come about?
Six years ago Essax broke all the molds of the sector, changing the way of conceiving the bicycle saddle, which had not evolved for decades. It launched a completely new product that created (and continues to do so) great expectations worldwide. A saddle like this, which everyone talks about, had never been made before.

Many thousands of units sold later, and many more satisfied cyclists, have proven us right and have shown that it was not a simple extravagance to attract attention. The Shark, it works.

What is the fin for?
It is provided with a central fin, which is the key to this biomechanical set. Its positioning tells the cyclist how to position their sit bones so that they are perfectly supported on the saddle. That is to say; It interacts with the user by giving them information on how they should sit.

In the hundreds of real biomechanical studies carried out during the development of this product, the evidence told us that the vast majority of cyclists had the sensory perception of being well placed on their saddles, when reality showed that they were usually turned or only supported one of the two ischiums. Because if we have some type of dysmetria in normal life, it is multiplied on the bike, since the posture adopted to pedal is not natural for the human body.

And if that were not enough, what was initially intended to be a therapeutic solution to the discomfort of thousands of cyclists, has become an element that can allow greater physical performance, and not because there is a new support point in the bike, which in fact is not such, but because by giving stability to the hips, the transmission of force to the pedals is much more efficient, therefore achieving greater performance.

Is it approved?
The Essax Shark is patented, although its use in official UCI (International Cycling Union) competitions is not permitted.

How is it placed?
Although we provide an installation guide, before purchasing it we advise you to first consult a biomechanics professional, who will advise you on its correct placement and use.
